About the position

The Director of Operations for New Advisor Transitions Management is responsible for providing leadership and direction to translate business strategy into actionable work programs for complex specialty work groups across multiple locations. This role involves leading significant projects, managing resources, and ensuring effective coordination between departments to meet operational objectives. The position requires extensive interaction with senior leaders and a strong understanding of the firm's various businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Sets goals for the functional area in line with the organization's vision and goals.
  • Leads major projects with significant scope and complexity.
  • Establishes solutions for process improvement areas and implements them with the management team.
  • Establishes service delivery standards and metrics to capture performance.
  • Develops processes and procedures for efficient and timely workflow.
  • Performs periodic reporting on work progress and project completions.
  • Balances conflicting resource and priority demands.
  • Maintains regular contact with senior management to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ensures effective coordination between assigned functional areas and other departments.
  • Identifies trends and implements corrective actions as necessary.
  • Uses financial data to establish control mechanisms and improvement initiatives.
  • Prepares and presents operational budgets for assigned areas.
  • Creates an environment that fosters high associate engagement.
  • Establishes internal and external partnership opportunities.
  • Facilitates the implementation of organizational change and addresses resistance.
  • Takes decisive action and conveys urgency to deliver results.
  • Motivates others to action and adds value through collaboration.
  • Performs human resource management activities, including evaluating performance and selecting staff.
  • Plans, assigns, monitors, reviews, and leads the work of subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Coaches and mentors subordinates, identifying training needs and creating development plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in the financial services industry.
  • At least six (6) years in a leadership capacity.
  • Knowledge of investment concepts and practices in the securities industry.
  • Strong change management experience with a proven track record.
  • Ability to build cohesive teams and develop structure and direction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Series 99 or equivalent certification, or ability to obtain within 120 days.
  • Experience in advisor transitions or back-office operations.
