About the position

As the Director - Operations, you will be responsible for the performance of all operational functions of a large, complex location, or multiple remote locations. This role requires you to provide strategic leadership to meet and optimize established levels of business performance objectives, service, productivity, and quality. You will partner with leaders across Supply Chain, Operations, and all business units to drive continuous improvement. Your leadership will be crucial in managing operations with the objective to improve operational efficiency and increase productivity. In this position, you will provide guidance on hiring, developing talent, and managing staff. You will lead a team to ensure objectives are met, including driving customer excellence plans, setting and managing performance targets, and overseeing employee performance management. You will also drive LEAN methodologies to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality across the organization. Your role will involve providing both strategic and tactical leadership to achieve corporate goals, developing annual business plans, and identifying key activities and priorities. You will implement and communicate operational strategies and solutions that are consistent with business plans, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, internal audit control, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and business management quality system planning. Additionally, you will partner with inventory leaders to ensure that regional inventory needs and goals are met, set and monitor operational budgets, and provide guidance to ensure that business continuity and recovery plans are met. It is essential that operational policies and procedures are appropriate to the business, and you will be responsible for ensuring this alignment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • 7-10 years of operation leadership experience in distribution center facilities.
  • 5 years managing varied organizations development projects and programs.
  • 3 years managing varied organizations development projects and programs.
  • LEAN yellow belt certification.
  • Ability to execute a LEAN mentality in a distribution/warehouse environment.
  • Business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Strategic thinking skills and ability to work with senior management and regional teams.
  • Ability to identify external resources, develop, and manage relationships with vendors and other external and internal service providers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong decision making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics and performance and operation metrics.
  • Ability to travel 25% - 50%.
