About the position

The Director of Operations at Legrand North America is responsible for the strategic planning and management of manufacturing and supply-chain operations within the Data Center Power & Control Division. This role involves leading the development and implementation of operational strategies, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining high standards of customer service and quality. The Director will work closely with various teams to optimize operations, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic direction for manufacturing, including long-range plans and annual operational goals.
  • Work with plant managers to develop and manage the annual operating plan/budget for manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of metal fabrication cells and understand the impact of process changes on manufacturing.
  • Review operations reports and performance data to measure productivity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, reduce costs, and streamline processes.
  • Lead the deployment and optimization of Legrand's lean manufacturing system at all applicable business sites.
  • Oversee health and safety teams to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing Organization to develop optimal supply-chain strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional Sales and Operations meetings to address key operational issues.
  • Provide leadership to advance manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and plant management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required; MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 10-15 years of demonstrated success in operations of increasing responsibility.
  • Multi-site, global, and full supply chain leadership experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of operations, including engineering, logistics, and procurement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with the electrical and digital building infrastructure industry.
