About the position

The Director of Organ Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing all clinical aspects related to organ transplantation. This role involves leading the Organ Procurement Transplant Coordinator team to enhance the number and quality of organs recovered, while fostering a collaborative organizational culture. The Director works closely with senior leadership to develop strategies that maximize organ donation and transplantation efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting effective communication across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to direct the development and achievement of organizational objectives and departmental goals.
  • Manage staff including selection, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop solutions for maximizing organ donation and transplantation.
  • Foster relationships with hospital staff and other stakeholders to enhance communication and workflow in the donation process.
  • Participate in committees to advance organ procurement practices and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and revise processes to improve organ recovery and transplantation outcomes.
  • Educate staff and hospital partners on effective organ procurement practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences or equivalent required.
  • RN licensure required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of healthcare leadership experience or equivalent organ procurement experience.
  • Ability to obtain CPTC certification within 18 months.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to achieve measurable results.
  • Strong organizational, problem analysis, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous organ procurement experience preferred.
