About the position

The Director of Organ Procurement at Midwest Transplant Network Inc. is responsible for overseeing and managing all clinical aspects related to organ procurement for transplantation. This role involves leading the Organ Procurement Transplant Coordinator team, collaborating with various departments to maximize organ recovery and transplantation, and fostering a supportive organizational culture. The Director plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the organ procurement process.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to direct the development and achievement of organizational objectives and departmental goals.
• Manage staff including selection, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer and Sr. Director, Organ Procurement to develop solutions for maximizing donation and transplantation.
• Foster relationships with hospital staff and other key stakeholders to enhance communication and workflow in the donation process.
• Participate in committees to advance organ procurement practices and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Monitor and revise processes to improve organ recovery and transplantation outcomes.
• Educate staff and hospital partners on effective organ procurement practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health sciences or equivalent required.
• RN licensure required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of healthcare leadership experience or equivalent organ procurement experience.
• Ability to obtain CPTC certification within 18 months.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to achieve measurable results.
• Strong organizational, problem analysis, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
