About the position

The Director of OSP Engineering & Construction is responsible for overseeing the engineering and construction of Shentel's fiber, coax, and copper networks. This role involves leadership in network design, capacity planning, and improving network reliability, while managing budgets and ensuring timely delivery of projects. The position requires effective communication with a diverse workforce and the implementation of changes to enhance business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordination for network design and capacity planning.
• Improve network reliability through performance metrics.
• Ensure timely delivery of network designs.
• Communicate effectively with employees from diverse backgrounds to achieve results.
• Implement changes to improve business results.
• Manage capital and operating budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or technology field.
• 15 or more years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
• 10 or more years of experience managing engineering, operations, or technical teams.
• Strong project management experience.
• Budgeting and financial analysis skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CAD-based mapping systems, preferably Mapcom M4.
• Knowledge of access technologies such as FTTH, HFC, DSL, and Ethernet.
