About the position

The Director of Parking Operations at Augusta University is responsible for overseeing all aspects of parking management across the university's campuses, which includes managing 11,000 parking spaces. This role involves ensuring fiscal responsibility, managing parking systems, coordinating revenue collection, supervising staff, and maintaining effective communication with various campus departments. The director will also be involved in strategic planning and operational improvements to enhance the parking experience for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and overall management of all university parking operations including permitting, enforcement, lot operations, and event management.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and timely reporting for financial functions within the department.
  • Manage department procedures and coordinate any changes with division leadership.
  • Manage parking permit systems, parking access control systems, and mobile applications for visitor parking.
  • Verify financial information using university system tools.
  • Coordinate and verify revenue collection from various sources including student permits and citations.
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place for monitoring revenue and expenses.
  • Oversee administrative requirements including annual inventory and budget preparation.
  • Lead and supervise the parking operations team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Resolve customer service issues related to parking operations.
  • Coordinate parking information with campus leadership and departments.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information on web-based platforms and social media outlets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a five-year work history; or an Associate's degree with a seven-year work history.
  • Experience with parking management and parking access control systems.
  • Supervisory experience in parking permitting, enforcement, operations, or related logistics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large university or medical center parking operations.
  • Experience with AIMS Parking Management and/or IPARC Parking Access software.
  • Experience with financial accounting and payroll systems.
  • Prior experience in a customer service or retail environment.
  • Prior event management experience.
