About the position

The Director, Patient Engagement Marketing at Avidity Biosciences is responsible for leading the digital strategy aimed at enhancing patient engagement and satisfaction for those starting and continuing prescribed treatments. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to create patient-centered solutions and requires a strong background in digital marketing within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead patient engagement digital strategy, planning, and development for patients starting and staying on prescribed treatments.
  • Select and integrate patient engagement tools into the technology stack in partnership with IT and Patient Services.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and patient feedback to refine digital engagement strategies and enhance the patient experience.
  • Own Patient Services patient-facing brand development reflecting personalized support for patients and caregivers.
  • Oversee agency management, maintaining relationships, monitoring performance, and optimizing deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create a seamless patient experience across all touchpoints.
  • Provide input to the holistic view of the patient journey and aim content at overcoming barriers.
  • Develop and execute media plans and creative assets for patient awareness of the patient services program.
  • Set goals, monitor key performance metrics, and provide regular reporting and analysis to stakeholders.
  • Lead development of the digital patient engagement annual strategic, tactical, and operational plans, and budget.
  • Drive review of key patient engagement marketing materials through the promotional review committee approval process.
  • Work closely with legal, regulatory, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Stay informed about developments, best practices, and emerging technologies for future strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • 6+ years of digital marketing experience with a strong understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices.
  • 6+ years of people leader experience with the ability to manage and influence a team.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; advanced Degree in business or marketing preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and optimizing the patient experience.
  • Strong relationship-building and business-partnering experience across multiple departments and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
