About the position

The Director of Patient Marketing at Ascendis Pharma is responsible for driving the success of the Endocrinology Portfolio in the U.S. This role focuses on developing and implementing marketing strategies that support individuals with rare endocrine conditions and their caregivers. The incumbent will enhance disease state and brand awareness through educational and promotional tactics, ensuring a patient-centered approach in all marketing efforts. This position requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to manage budgets and marketing operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective strategy and tactics for patients to enhance disease education and product understanding.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including patient advocacy partners, to identify opportunities for enhanced communication.
  • Partner with colleagues in the development of market research and analytical projects.
  • Cultivate and leverage strong external relationships with opinion leaders, key customers, and professional organizations.
  • Collaborate with patient services to develop appropriate support solutions.
  • Establish critical commercial objectives and utilize metrics to drive decision-making and measure success of marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Medical, Regulatory, and Legal teams to support goals.
  • Effectively partner with key stakeholders such as Sales, Patient Services, and Commercial Analytics & Operations to ensure successful execution of brand plans.
  • Set a positive example for others by demonstrating Ascendis Pharma values.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry in commercial roles (e.g., Marketing, Sales, New Product Development) required.
  • Direct patient marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing patient marketing programs, including patient ambassador/mentor programs and managing multiple agencies.
  • Ability to exhibit passion and empathy to build meaningful experiences with patients.
  • Experience in a nimble entrepreneurial environment preferred.
  • Emerging life sciences/start-up experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to be action-oriented and self-motivated with a track record of being an enthusiastic and effective team player.
  • Professionalism and high integrity, with the ability to lead by example.
  • Knowledge of current legal, regulatory, and compliance climate.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and managing multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
