About the position

The Director, Patient Marketing US Metabolics is a pivotal role within the US Commercial Brand team, responsible for developing and executing strategies for patient and caregiver engagement. This position involves collaboration with various internal teams and oversight of patient marketing initiatives, ensuring effective consumer engagement and retention strategies are implemented.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the evolution and implementation of the strategy for patient and caregiver engagement
  • Developing and executing innovative patient tactical plans encompassing patient events, patient ambassador program, advocacy engagement, PSP, point-of-care, social, web, CRM, programmatic, search, print
  • Leading patient activation and retention initiatives, supporting disease awareness & diagnosis strategies
  • Partnering with omnichannel strategist to deliver multi-channel patient promotional platforms and identifying optimized marketing mix
  • Leading strategic oversight to media plan development & performance measurement
  • Partnering with commercial analytics & insights teams to assess current patient market landscape dynamics, identifying opportunities to increase awareness of treatment benefit for appropriate patients, and leading primary & secondary patient research projects
  • Contributing to the annual planning process, leading the short & long-term patient strategy assessment and evolution, tactical marketing plan development, and annual budgeting
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with other functional areas and internal strategic partners
  • Identifying, monitoring, and optimizing appropriate key performance indicators to measure & monitor, and lead patient cross-functional team tracking & performance analysis
  • Managing multiple agency partners, project timelines, resources, and patient marketing budgets
  • Managing/overseeing the patient marketing team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business field
  • 10+ years of professional experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry; can include marketing, agency, or related healthcare experience
  • Extensive patient and/or consumer marketing digital and omnichannel as well as personal engagement experience
  • Healthcare media planning experience
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects across functional areas, and work independently when appropriate, in teams and as a sub-team lead
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to collaborate in a matrix environment
  • High level of interpersonal skills and highly adept in both verbal & written communication
  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and fast paced competitive environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA)
  • Prior experience with rare disease, metabolic disorders, special pharmacy, and patient services programs strongly preferred
  • Prior agency experience
