About the position

The Director of Physician Revenue Cycle at Holy Name Medical Center is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the physician billing and collections processes. This position ensures compliance, efficiency, and maximum revenue capture across the revenue cycle, which includes both on-shore and off-shore teams. The director will lead initiatives to improve operations, enhance cash flow, and provide training and development for staff in revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the physician revenue cycle team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operations and team development.
  • Develop and implement revenue cycle strategies to improve efficiency, reduce denials, and enhance cash flow.
  • Analyze current processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, leading initiatives to streamline operations and increase revenue.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track revenue cycle performance, making data-driven decisions to enhance operations.
  • Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments to ensure accurate documentation, coding, and billing practices.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies to minimize risk and enhance revenue integrity.
  • Develop training programs for staff on billing procedures, coding updates, and best practices in revenue cycle management.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on revenue cycle performance to senior leadership, identifying challenges and recommending solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, business, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in revenue cycle management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • In-depth understanding of physician billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), payer reimbursement models, and revenue cycle best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in revenue cycle management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
