About the position

The Director, Planning and Logistics is a leadership role within the Supply Chain Management team at the company's manufacturing location in Durham. This position is responsible for overseeing the Logistics and Planning teams, ensuring the reliable supply of products to meet customer needs while promoting a culture of safety and quality. The role involves collaboration with various internal and external partners to optimize supply chain performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Logistics and Planning teams at the Durham site.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and participate in identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP and other business regulations.
  • Support effective planning and inventory management for reliable product supply.
  • Act as a key liaison for global Supply Chain and network partners.
  • Manage site warehousing and logistics operations, including material receipt and shipping.
  • Oversee the annual budget development and refresh of the Long-Range Operating Plan.
  • Coach and mentor team members for professional growth and performance improvement.
  • Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement within the Supply Chain function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a regulated environment such as Supply Chain Management or Manufacturing Operations.
  • Five years of people management experience.
  • Proficiency with SAP and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate materials management and ERP data knowledge with manufacturing operations.
