About the position

The Director of Plant Operations at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Facilities Maintenance, Environmental Services/Housekeeping, and Information Services departments. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing staff and contractors, and maintaining the efficient and safe operation of hospital facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and effective communication abilities, contributing to the overall mission of providing quality care to patients.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the operations of the Facilities Maintenance, Environmental Services/Housekeeping, and Information Services departments.
• Completes all duties and functions of the hospital Safety Officer.
• Maintains compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and OSHA.
• Manages staff and contractors to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings.
• Plans, predicts, maintains and repairs building and equipment.
• Manages operating and capital budgets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Five years of hospital engineering management experience.
• Three years of project management experience.
• Three years of experience with NFPA, TJC, CMS, OSHA, EPA, and state and local code standards.
• Three years of direct management experience.
• Strong management skills and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of building trades including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Healthcare Facility Manager certification preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting.
