Mountain Vista Medical Center is a 178-bed, state-of-the-art hospital located in east Mesa, Arizona, offering comprehensive health care services, including emergency care, heart care, advanced surgical procedures, orthopedics, breast care, maternity care, and women's services. The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the direction of the Plant Operations Department across the Arizona Market. This role is crucial in maintaining a comfortable physical environment for patients, personnel, medical staff, and the public, in accordance with hospital policy and procedures and regulatory requirements. The Director will oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant and all related operating equipment within the facility. Additionally, the Director will supervise the operation and maintenance of multiple buildings and structures. The position requires a strong understanding of the knowledge and assessment skills necessary to communicate, educate, and provide a therapeutic and safe environment for specific age groups served, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Director must respect the diversity of each individual's values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers. The role also involves maintaining performance improvement activities within the department and directing Performance Improvement activities. Other duties include completing the Statement of Conditions as required by the DNV on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and managing the department budget. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred or ten years of equivalent experience. A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a manager of plant operations in an acute hospital setting is required, including experience in disaster planning and fire regulations. The position also requires a valid Driver's License, DNV or Joint Commission experience, NFPA LSC training, and ASHE knowledge.
