About the position

The Director of Platform Engineering & IT at Bridgeway Benefit Technologies is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing a team of Platform Engineers. This position focuses on ensuring a secure and reliable Azure infrastructure for delivering SaaS solutions, migrating customers from on-premises to cloud, and driving operational efficiency. The Director will also engage in customer-facing activities, including pre-sales and support, while maintaining high standards for security and uptime.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic platform services plan to improve operational scale and efficiency while ensuring cloud infrastructure meets strict security requirements for PHI/PII data.
  • Develop trusted relationships with customers to address issues and opportunities collaboratively.
  • Maintain relationships with Product, Professional Services, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to enhance cloud infrastructure and leverage cloud-native components.
  • Oversee all infrastructure security, collaborating with CTO, Engineering, Legal, and Senior Director of Information Security to manage security policies and procedures.
  • Develop processes and tools to drive toward a NoOps approach for cloud infrastructure.
  • Partner with VP Engineering to replace legacy product components with modern, cloud-native solutions.
  • Define and measure KPIs that support NoOps and cloud-native solutions.
  • Assist sales with pre-sales for cloud hosting.
  • Manage people, including hiring, setting performance objectives, and providing feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure 99.9% uptime for a 24/7 production environment and manage disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintain processes for successful annual SOC2 Type2 audit.
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement and accountability for hosting issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the team is staffed, trained, and resourced to meet customer demand and SLAs.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure costs while ensuring performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing and growing a technical services team.
  • Proven track record driving cloud transformation.
  • Solid organizational and project-oriented skills, including planning, delegating, task facilitation, and follow-up.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for clear internal and external communications.
  • Technical knowledge of Azure or AWS hosting, including Linux (RedHat) and Windows environments; networking, firewalls, application load balancers.
  • Experience leveraging security tools for EDR, SEIM, and IDP.
  • Experience in SOC2 audit procedures and managing SOC2, HIPAA, or HiTrust audits.
  • Experienced in site/application optimization, recovery strategies, and high availability infrastructure implementation.
  • Proven success in building, motivating, and retaining high-performance teams.
  • Experience developing and implementing processes and consistently delivering against targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing enterprise support systems (monitoring, observability, backup, etc.).
  • Flexibility to manage a 24/7 hosting services environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or 20+ years of experience in software development, cloud transformation, and product innovation.
