About the position

The Director of Platform Modernization will lead the enterprise-wide transformation in software engineering, focusing on DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, and enhancing the Developer Experience. This role aims to integrate secure practices that ensure quality throughout the delivery process while automating compliance. The incumbent will collaborate with various teams to ensure project execution meets organizational standards and resolves issues effectively, ultimately creating a streamlined and high-quality engineering platform that enhances delivery agility and predictability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead enterprise-level strategy for DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, Developer Experience, and Software Architecture.
  • Create and enhance capabilities for DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, Developer Experience, and Software Architecture through strategic roadmaps.
  • Deliver effective proposals that advance the strategy and roadmaps, providing clear business value to executive leadership.
  • Ensure projects are staffed according to organizational priorities and impact, leveraging DevSecOps and related components.
  • Coach and monitor the team to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
  • Establish metrics to measure the timeliness and quality of development deliverables.
  • Provide leadership for timely resolution of problems and issues.
  • Maximize operational stability and automate operational controls and risk mitigation across the enterprise.
  • Maintain oversight of technology project financials and ensure proper planning and monitoring of commitments.
  • Negotiate and manage multi-million-dollar contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Direct and manage staff performance and development processes, ensuring equity and fairness in salary administration.

Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering or 15 years of relevant IT experience or equivalent operational responsibilities.
  • 12 years of progressively responsible experience in IT management.
  • 10 or more years managing others, including leading and motivating large diverse teams.
  • 10 or more years of relevant IT management experience.
  • 10 or more years of portfolio/program/human resources management experience.
  • 10 or more years of project management experience.
  • 10 or more years as a DevSecOps engineering practitioner.
  • 8 or more years of application development experience on multiple applications.
  • 8 years of engineering experience in a large regulated corporate environment.
