About the position

As the Director of Policy and Trust & Safety Communications at Snap Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping and protecting the reputation of Snap among key stakeholders, including policymakers and safety advocates. This position involves leading a US-based policy communications team across major cities such as Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and New York, while also guiding non-US communications team members to ensure alignment with global strategies and desired outcomes. You will be responsible for developing and driving impactful public affairs campaigns that support Snap's business goals, as well as collaborating closely with Snap's policy team to educate and advance the company's position on both emerging and established policies and government regulations. In this role, you will partner with leaders across various teams, including policy, legal, platform safety, and platform integrity, to drive positive impacts for the business, partners, and Snapchatters. You will also lead a rapid response program to ensure that media and thought leaders have access to accurate and timely information, while managing high-volume, fast-paced litigation environments in collaboration with Snap's legal team. Your work will involve close collaboration with a global communications team to support Snap's communications priorities effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of the media, policy, and cultural landscape, with extensive experience working with senior stakeholders. A deep understanding of tech policy issues, particularly in-house experience at a publicly traded company, is essential. You should demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a willingness to experiment to identify creative solutions, alongside strong leadership skills. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously is crucial, as is the capacity to build strong working relationships across different time zones. Excellent judgment, writing, and communication skills are necessary, as you may serve as a spokesperson for Snap when required.
