About the position

The Director of Portfolio Operations at Visa is responsible for defining and executing product portfolio management practices within the Global Product organization. This role focuses on driving transparent and consistent portfolio management to prioritize high-impact investments, collaborating closely with Product Management and Development teams. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive experience in portfolio management and product development to influence stakeholders and enhance decision-making processes, ultimately contributing to Visa's growth and success in the payments ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product portfolio management practices.
  • Support planning and day-to-day portfolio management activities.
  • Partner with Product and Technology Teams for quarterly planning and funding reviews.
  • Lead and manage product portfolio funding processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage a product portfolio prioritization framework to maximize investment returns.
  • Improve visibility into product portfolios to drive transparency and real-time decision-making.
  • Drive collaboration between Global Product and Product Development stakeholders.
  • Maintain and own portfolio level dashboards on portfolio health.
  • Develop data-driven insights and recommendations for portfolio management practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 7 years with an Advanced degree, or 4 years with a PhD, or 13+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in portfolio management, product development, or management consulting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex issues clearly.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in agile product development, preferably in the payments industry.
  • Strong financial background and experience in defining and implementing new processes.
  • Experience with JIRA Align, Power BI, and Power Apps.
