About the position

The Director, Practice Operations at Privia Health is a pivotal role responsible for managing the region's clinically integrated multi-specialty practices. This position is designed to drive performance results and oversee the Performance Management, Implementation, and Training teams. The Director will partner closely with physician owners to focus on strategic planning and execution, particularly in areas such as Value-Based Care (VBC) and Fee-For-Service (FFS) performance, same-store growth, and succession planning. This role is integral to the transformation of care delivery, ensuring that practices are aligned with the goals of improving patient experiences and optimizing healthcare costs. In collaboration with the Privia VBC and physician leadership, the Director will lead initiatives aimed at care transformation. This includes working with the Strategic Operations team to establish processes and make key decisions that define the market structure. The Director will oversee the management of independent Primary Care Physician practices in partnership with the Market President, ensuring that operational teams are executing strategies that support market growth. The role also involves managing the Performance Management, Implementation, and Training team members for the assigned geography. The Director will be responsible for the end-to-end relationship with clients, from sales through implementation to performance management. Identifying areas for improvement will be crucial, as the Director will lead Monthly Operating Review meetings to assess sales, financial, and clinical KPI metrics for the market. Additionally, the Director will facilitate the transformational journey for physician practices transitioning from Fee-For-Service to Value-Based Care, presenting findings and reports in formal market meetings, including board meetings and town halls. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the region's clinically integrated multi-specialty practices to drive performance results.
  • Oversee the Performance Management, Implementation, and Training teams.
  • Partner with physician owners on strategic planning and execution for VBC and FFS performance.
  • Collaborate with Privia VBC and physician leadership to drive care transformation.
  • Lead the establishment of processes and key decisions to define market structure in coordination with the Strategic Operations team.
  • Oversee management of independent Primary Care Physician practices in partnership with the Market President.
  • Lead operational teams to support market growth and strategy execution.
  • Manage the end-to-end client relationship from sales to implementation to performance management.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement through Monthly Operating Review meetings reviewing sales, financial, and clinical KPI metrics.
  • Facilitate the transition of physician practices from Fee-For-Service to Value-Based Care.
  • Present and report findings in formal market meetings, including board meetings and town halls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Healthcare Master's or MBA highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of healthcare experience required, preferably working with physicians and medical group staff.
  • Experience in establishing operational processes and teams for a new business model preferred.
  • Proven experience managing a team to achieve individual and shared goals.
  • Quantitatively and financially focused; ability to set appropriate KPI metric goals and hold teams accountable.
  • Ability to manage a balance sheet and explain financial data.
  • Tech-savvy with a strong understanding of healthcare technology.
  • Experience in developing and achieving quality improvement measures in a medical field.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while providing exceptional client service.
  • Must provide reliable transportation and comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.
