About the position

The Director/Preschool Teacher at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church is a full-time, on-site role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the preschool. This includes managing staff, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements, and addressing parental concerns. The director plays a crucial role in planning and supervising the curriculum while maintaining a safe and secure environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage staff, including faculty, secretary, other professional and support staff, and volunteers.
• Supervise curriculum.
• Maintain student records and medical information.
• Keep track of yearly credits needed by teachers for the state.
• Coordinate building and class supplies.
• Ensure security, safety, and maintenance of the building.
• Keep up to date with city and state requirements (Book 137 of Louisiana State Regulations).
• Handle banking with the assistance of a part-time bookkeeper.
• Perform other responsibilities related to the needs of the preschool.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have documentation of at least one of the following: an early childhood ancillary certificate with one year of experience, a national administrator credential with one year of experience plus training, or three years of experience as a director or staff in a licensed early learning center plus training.
• Must pass a criminal background check through the State of Louisiana.
• Must train for and remain compliant with all requirements of the Office of Child and Youth Protection, Archdiocese of New Orleans.
