About the position

The Director, Procurement Operations at Parexel plays a pivotal role in shaping the procurement landscape for the organization. This position is responsible for developing global category business plans for a wide array of products and services that involve significant financial investments. The Director will lead the creation of sourcing strategies that outline clear action steps aimed at driving cost savings while engaging and aligning with internal customers. Collaboration with key suppliers is essential, as is the development of Global Category and Strategic Sourcing Plans that align with the company's business strategies and objectives, ultimately driving substantial value for Parexel. In this leadership role, the Director will strategically align the category team to fully support business partners in alignment with Strategic Business Units (SBUs). It is crucial to ensure that procurement-related processes and systems reflect business needs and operate effectively and efficiently. Understanding the objectives of both customers and Parexel is vital, as the Director will evolve procurement strategies and business plans to provide comprehensive support. The Director will act as a trusted advisor to internal executive stakeholders, representing Procurement at a senior level and providing professional expertise on global projects that require cross-departmental and SBU representation. This role also involves analyzing and monitoring global category requirements, integrating local, regional, and global expenditures with supplier performance. Participation in global key supplier reviews will be necessary to identify opportunities for improved sourcing initiatives, while maintaining awareness of global economic and business conditions to maximize opportunities and mitigate potential threats. Additionally, the Director will lead initiatives for global and regional supplier consolidation, enhancing supply chain efficiencies, and achieving cost savings. Negotiating terms and conditions with key suppliers for complex, strategic, and high-value contracts is a critical responsibility, ensuring that optimum price competitiveness and service levels are maintained. The Director will also collaborate with the Supplier Relationship Management team to ensure effective supplier management through strategic sourcing, performance monitoring against KPIs, SLAs, and contract management. Promoting compliance and standardization across the company is another key aspect of this role, fostering cooperation and positive communication. Finally, the Director will undertake the full range of duties related to team leadership, management, and development, ensuring that team performance meets or exceeds both business and personal goals in a positive, results-oriented work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • 10-15 years of experience in CRO and/or Strategic Procurement/Vendor Management.
