About the position

As a Director of Product Management at Sam's Club, you will be responsible for driving the product strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes for the entire Data and Finance Product Stack utilized by business stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of product management principles and the ability to lead a team of product managers to innovate and enhance products that meet the needs of our members. You will work closely with a diverse team that includes associates from operations, consulting, business, product, and technical backgrounds, all united by a common goal: to provide a superior member experience across all shopping channels. In this position, you will develop and enhance products by managing product roadmaps, aligning business and technical needs, analyzing customer and product data, and turning customer insights into actionable initiatives. You will define the vision and strategies for your product family, leveraging domain expertise and best practices to identify market opportunities and build compelling business cases. Building strong relationships with key partners is essential, as you will need to communicate and prioritize product roadmaps effectively while gaining buy-in from executive leadership. You will lead a team of 5 to 8 product managers, guiding them through the entire product lifecycle, which includes discovery, analysis, testing, and iteration. Collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, such as engineers and operations teams across multiple offices and time zones, will be a key aspect of your role. You will apply structured thinking methodologies, such as journey mapping and root cause analysis, to solve complex problems and create effective go-to-market strategies that drive product adoption and success. Mentoring and coaching your team will be crucial as you foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and efficiency. You will evaluate the effectiveness of products and initiatives, ensuring they meet operational needs and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes for the Data and Finance Product Stack.
  • Manage product roadmaps and align business and technical needs.
  • Analyze customer and product data to turn insights into actionable initiatives.
  • Define vision and strategies for the product family using domain expertise and best practices.
  • Build relationships with key partners and communicate product priorities to executive leadership.
  • Lead a team of 5 to 8 product managers in developing solutions for replenishment systems.
  • Own the entire product lifecycle from discovery to iteration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple offices and time zones.
  • Apply structured thinking methodologies to solve complex problems.
  • Create go-to-market strategies and drive product adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 11 years' experience in product management.
  • 13 years' experience in product management or related area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area.
  • 10 years' experience as a product manager, ideally with consumer-facing, large-scale B2B/C products.
  • Supervisory experience in product management.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
