About the position

The position involves leading a team of Product Managers for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), a managed product portfolio that enhances Google Cloud's infrastructure and services. The role focuses on defining and executing operations as a product, partnering with infrastructure operators, and utilizing AI to optimize customer total cost of ownership (TCO). The successful candidate will ensure that processes and tools are in place to meet customer service expectations and will drive the growth of GDC through effective channel management and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of high performing Product Managers.
  • Define and execute Operations as a Product for GDC.
  • Accelerate the business by partnering with infrastructure operators to resell, service, and operate GDC.
  • Ensure processes and tools are in place to meet or exceed customer expectations for service SLO/SLAs.
  • Use AI to improve customer TCO and enable healthy margins for Google at competitive market pricing.
  • Partner with the hardware supply chain organization and own software deployment and system validation to ensure repeatable, reliable system delivery.
  • Enable an indirect channel model with third-party operators to allow GDC to scale Go-To-Market and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in product management, focusing on cloud operations, DevOps, or related areas.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, infrastructure management, NOC/SOC, and DevOps principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience as a people manager.
  • Experience building AI/ML systems and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, cloud cost optimization, and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
  • Proven track record of defining and launching successful cloud-based products.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a product management team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, people, and presentation skills.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $253,000-$363,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
