As the Director of Product Management at Pearson, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing education for the next generation of nurses. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Commercial Product Management to develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with Pearson's overarching goals. Your responsibilities will include translating commercial and customer needs into detailed product requirements and features, working alongside cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, and marketing to ensure successful product development and launch. You will also be responsible for fostering strong collaboration across departments and mentoring team members to drive product excellence. Your role will involve maintaining a deep understanding of customer pain points to ensure that our products meet high standards of quality and usability. You will oversee the product development process, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while prioritizing tasks and managing resources effectively. Additionally, you will define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement, ensuring that our offerings remain competitive and impactful in the education sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy in collaboration with the Director of Commercial Product Management.
  • Translate commercial and customer needs into detailed product requirements and features.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Commercial Product Management, engineering, design, and marketing, to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Foster strong collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Lead by example and mentor team members to drive product excellence.
  • Work in close partnership with the commercial product management team to ensure alignment of product strategy with market opportunities and business goals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer pain points to ensure products meet high standards of quality and usability.
  • Oversee the product development process, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the education or healthcare industry.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate new ideas with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills with a track record of developing and launching successful products.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Experience working closely with commercial product management teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Passion for improving nursing education and supporting the development of novice nurses.
