About the position

We are seeking a Director, Product Marketing for our North America HVAC business segment. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans to drive the success of Commercial Applied products in North America, including all applied products manufactured or sourced by Carrier. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 30 employees in the US and Canada. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and positioning. This position can be located at any of the Carrier offices in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Drive organic growth through market, pricing, and competitor analysis with peers and direct teams.
  • Develop business cases for product gaps through critical analysis.
  • Lead SKU and product rationalization.
  • Oversee Application Engineering, new product introductions, sales effectiveness, and training.
  • Navigate and define product marketing strategy across complex go-to-market channels, setting strategy across direct sales offices, Distribution and Rep channels as well as Global Enterprise solutions.
  • Work closely to sharpen focus on synergies between Residential and Light Commercial Go-to-Market, Products and Application engineering for optimized engineering investments.
  • Work closely with the Carrier Commercial Service business for overall P&L responsibility related to products for Applied.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of Product Management or Product Marketing experience

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA
  • Experience in Commercial HVAC Sales, Product Management, Application Engineering or Design
  • HVAC industry experience with consulting engineers and end owners
  • Experience with semi-custom and custom commercial applied chillers or heat pumps
  • Experience with Electrification and Decarbonization applications
  • High comfort level with presenting technical information to large groups and facilitating large group discussions
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple functions, to maintain composure in high-pressure situations, and to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Combination of excellent technical skills, be a self-starter, with strong business understanding, strong self-direction, and excellent interpersonal/influencing skills to work across the Carrier organization and with customers
