About the position

As the Radio Test Product Line Director at VIAVI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and success of our Radio Test commercial and military product lines. This position is based at our Wichita, KS site and is integral to our mission of providing cutting-edge network test, monitoring, and assurance solutions. You will be responsible for understanding the needs and trends of Radio Test customers and the market, defining and managing a competitive product roadmap, and developing strategic partnerships with key customers. Your role will also involve identifying, quoting, and winning major opportunities while evaluating and countering competitive threats. You will engage with various organizations to support Radio Test programs and initiatives, preparing and executing business plans to achieve P&L targets. In this leadership position, you will manage the Radio Test Business Development and Applications organizations, representing VIAVI as a key spokesperson and media representative for the Radio Test commercial and military markets. You will work closely with the Business Development organization and the SVP & General Manager of the AvComm Business Unit to evaluate new markets and business opportunities. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of the Radio Test product lines, including analyzing markets, defining customer and product requirements, and actively managing product development with R&D teams. You will also oversee new product introductions and training for major customers, sales teams, and channel partners, shaping the go-to-market strategy and driving engagement to win customer programs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Radio Test customer and market needs and trends.
  • Define, manage, and execute on a competitive product roadmap.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with key customers.
  • Identify, quote, and win major opportunities.
  • Evaluate and counter competitive threats.
  • Engage with organizations in support of Radio Test programs and initiatives.
  • Prepare and execute business plans and achieve P&L targets.
  • Manage the Radio Test Business Development and Applications organizations.
  • Represent the company as a key spokesperson and media representative for the Radio Test commercial and military markets.
  • Evaluate new markets and business opportunities in concert with the Business Development organization and SVP & General Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced technical or business administration (MBA) degrees are a plus.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in Radio/RF and/or marketing roles.
  • Knowledge of radio OEMs, service and repair centers, and their personnel strongly preferred.
  • Three to four years in supervisory or managerial positions.
  • Currently have or ability to obtain a U.S. Secret (or above) security clearance.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-40% of the time.
