About the position

As the Director of Product Marketing at Sphera, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our sustainability consulting team, which is a crucial component of our integrated sustainability solutions. This position requires a strategic thinker who is passionate about crafting compelling positioning and go-to-market strategies that resonate with our customers. You will collaborate with various functional teams, including product, marketing, sales, engineering, and customer success, to ensure that our offerings are not only innovative but also effectively communicated to the market. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire product lifecycle, from shaping offerings and analyzing the competitive landscape to driving product launches and facilitating customer expansion. You will be expected to understand the market dynamics, including ideal customer profiles (ICP) and buyer personas, to ensure that our marketing efforts are targeted and relevant. Additionally, you will document and communicate the competitive landscape, ensuring that our sales and consulting teams are equipped with the necessary insights to succeed. In this role, you will also oversee demand generation programs, creating campaigns that leverage various channels such as events, email, SEO, and paid media. Regular assessment of marketing programs and sales tools will be essential, as you will collaborate with Marketing Operations to report on effectiveness and recommend changes. As an external thought leader, you will coordinate with subject matter experts and customers for speaking engagements and written works, further establishing Sphera's presence in the ESG space. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving internal and external readiness for product adoption and market success, making this a highly impactful role within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on go-to-market plans with key stakeholders to support retention and expansion of existing customer accounts, revenue growth for solution lines, and new customer acquisition.
  • Understand the market, ICP, and buyer personas relevant to the portfolio of solutions as well as being the expert on their ecosystem.
  • Document and communicate the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition, how they are positioned, and how to win against them.
  • Create and maintain customer case studies and communicate those to sales, product development, and others in the organization.
  • Drive key offering introductions and launches for sustainability consulting, ensuring a crisp value proposition and messaging and through organizational readiness and enablement.
  • Train and enable consulting and sales teams on messaging, use of tools and assets to advance opportunity pipeline, accelerate, and close deals.
  • Oversee demand generation program by creating campaigns for assigned solution in conjunction with internal and external channel experts (events, syndication, email, SEO, paid media, etc.).
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of marketing programs and sales tools in collaboration with Marketing Operations and report back to the business on results and required changes.
  • Act as an external thought leader for the solutions you support; coordinate and field key subject matter experts and customers for speaking engagements, press, analysts, and written works.
  • Establish, maintain and leverage internal partnerships with Engineering, Product Management, Sales & Service Teams to drive internal and external readiness for adoption and in-market success for new and existing products.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years experience in software marketing, product marketing is preferred - preferably in relevant category (ESG).
  • Proven track record of creating value through strategic product marketing in B2B high tech or SaaS industry.
  • An ambitious individual eager to take their first step into a people leadership role.
  • Startup mentality with a bias towards action and the ability to flex in a fast-paced environment.
  • Command of best practices across messaging, GTM strategy, positioning and creating product marketing content and assets.
  • Proven experience managing product launches and go to market initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in creating and overseeing campaigns including the execution of industry reports, surveys, ebooks, blogs, infographics, etc. both internally and with external agency support.
  • Strong collaboration, analytical, critical thinking, and business strategy skills.
  • Ability to engage with and earn the respect of product leaders, sales leaders, marketing leaders and other cross-functional counterparts.
  • Creative problem solver that can generate innovative marketing ideas and lead a cross-functional team of partners to drive execution.
  • Excellent communicator of complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
