About the position

The Director of Product Operations (Provider) at Blue Shield of California is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the product lifecycle across various portfolios and customer segments. This position focuses on ensuring that product offerings, which include technology and services, are effectively launched, maintained, and continuously improved. The Director will define operational models, lead cross-functional teams, and enhance customer engagement throughout the product lifecycle, ultimately contributing to the company's market position and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic operations of the portfolio product implementation lifecycle from inception to launch, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.
  • Develop and refine processes for product offering management, launch, and lifecycle management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Influence and lead coordination with product, legal, regulatory, engineering, marketing, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless product operations and successful launches.
  • Oversee resource allocation, budgets, and timelines to ensure each phase of the product lifecycle is optimized and completed on schedule and within scope.
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis and competitive benchmarking to inform operational strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate with parties within and outside of job functions, clearly influencing others to accept practices and approaches.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership on product operations progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Identify potential risks in product operations and implement mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and guide future efforts.
  • Ensure customer feedback is integrated into product operations to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing best practices to enhance product operations.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in Healthcare Product experience, including 6 years of management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with a health plan and experience in health plan operations.
  • Requires product management lifecycle operations experience.
  • Requires strong communication skills with leadership and the ability to influence others.
  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare and change management process.
