About the position

We are seeking a Director, Production - Manufacturing for our case-ready beef plant in Olathe, Kansas. This role will report to the Site Sr. Director and is responsible for all aspects of the production process. You will be responsible for developing and executing multiple business plans and projects, leading a team across multiple functions, ensuring business needs are met, and leading, developing, and implementing the business plan for the area of responsibility. In this position, you will develop and lead the execution of multiple business plans and projects, identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, and removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance. You will lead a team working across multiple functions, providing supervision and development opportunities for associates, establishing performance expectations, and conducting regular performance evaluations. You will also be responsible for all aspects of the production process, as well as shared oversight of financials and adherence to the budget. It is crucial to ensure that business needs are met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, and consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders. Additionally, you will lead, develop, and implement the business plan for your area of responsibility to achieve facility goals such as production, quality, and safety, while implementing operational improvements. Your impact will be significant as you develop contingency plans, demonstrate adaptability, and support continuous learning while promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. You will also be responsible for monitoring and tracking expenses compared to the budget, preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports, and teaching and supporting manufacturing and company policies and procedures. Cultivating an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics is essential, integrating these values into all programs and practices, and developing consequences for violations or non-compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the execution of multiple business plans and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, agriculture, food science, or manufacturing operations management and 2 years' experience in a senior management role within a manufacturing/food science operations environment.
  • 5 years' experience in a senior management role in a manufacturing/food science operations environment.
  • 2 years' experience developing and managing budgets, managing profit-and-loss statements, developing manpower forecasts, monitoring regulatory compliance, and analyzing financial/operational data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Agriculture, Food Science, or Manufacturing Operations Management and 3 years' experience in a senior management role in a manufacturing/food science operations environment.
  • Experience with OSHA, EPA, FDA, and USDA guidelines and representatives.
  • Leadership experience in the Agricultural, Food Science, Manufacturing, or related industry.
