About The Position

The Director of Program Finance Operations at AIR is responsible for leading initiatives to enhance the performance of the finance team. This role focuses on improving program finance operations and service delivery, providing management guidance, and implementing process improvements across the organization. The position is hybrid and can be based out of any of AIR's U.S. office locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of work experience in finance operations.
  • Strong understanding of the non-profit sector and experience with various funding mechanisms and regulations.
  • Broad experience across financial management and reporting spectrum.
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing finance/accounting professionals.
  • Proven experience with FAR, CAS, GAAP, and other federal and non-federal regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Expert proficiency in Deltek Costpoint 8.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and mentorship of Program Finance staff to enhance understanding and capabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Finance and other AIR team leaders to ensure the delivery of business process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Drive continuous process improvement and foster a culture of change within Program Finance.
  • Develop and refresh program finance policies, procedures, and process documentation.
  • Stay current on innovative process improvement practices by leveraging peer networks.
  • Build effective relationships and motivate team members to achieve program finance excellence.
  • Perform diagnostics on business processes, tools, and technology to identify opportunities and propose solutions.
  • Design and lead coaching workshops for managers and employees on process improvement practices.
