About the position

The Director, Program Management & Business Development is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for leading the program management team in overseeing complex Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) projects from inception to delivery. This position requires a candidate with a robust background in electronics manufacturing, coupled with exceptional leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of program managers. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing program management strategies that align with both company goals and customer needs, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Director will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they meet on-time delivery, quality standards, and customer satisfaction. This includes collaborating closely with various departments such as sales, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to facilitate seamless project execution. The Director will also be responsible for managing customer relationships, addressing any concerns, and identifying new business opportunities to drive growth in the contract manufacturing sector. Additionally, the Director will monitor key performance metrics, such as Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory, and actively work to correct any material exceptions. They will review quotes with the program management team to ensure profitability and optimize program management processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Staying abreast of industry trends and implementing best practices in program management will also be critical to the success of this role. The Director will develop proposals and coordinate ordering and scheduling for new projects while managing risks and resolving issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program management strategies aligned with company goals and customer needs
  • Lead a team of program managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure that all metrics for key areas such as E&O are reviewed and actively monitored to correct material exceptions
  • Review quotes with the PM team to ensure profit
  • Collaborate with sales functions within the company to drive business development for the contract manufacturing side
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery, quality standards, and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Manage customer relationships, addressing concerns and identifying new business opportunities
  • Optimize program management processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Monitor industry trends and implement best practices in program management
  • Develop proposals and coordinate ordering and scheduling for new projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in program management within the electronics manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex PCBA projects
  • Strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Experience with ERP systems and project management software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Six Sigma or PMP certification
  • Experience with high-mix, low-volume PCBA production
  • Familiarity with contract manufacturing and outsourcing practices
