About the position

Maxar is seeking a Director of Program Management to lead the ISR line of business in Melbourne, FL. This role involves overseeing program performance from pre-award to completion, focusing on government contracts and potentially large commercial constellation efforts. The Director will be responsible for managing program activities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and maintaining customer relationships while driving program success.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and control program activities to ensure objectives and customer requirements are met.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and control program management processes using Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Create, update, and manage the integrated program plan and master schedule.
  • Apply knowledge of FAR and DFAR to contract execution.
  • Support business development for commercial and government pursuits, defining clear baselines for assessments and costing.
  • Manage the technical baseline and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure ethical business practices in all customer dealings.
  • Manage core team personnel and assign responsibilities to subsystem organizations.
  • Balance program reserves with the program business manager to manage risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct program planning risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate decisions with appropriate subsystem organizations.
  • Conduct reviews, audits, and establish corrective action plans to meet objectives.
  • Provide timely program information to executive management.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree; a master's degree counts as two years of experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in program management for large-scale engineering/manufacturing programs for ISR and IC customers.
  • Ability to travel for customer, supplier, or business development meetings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Physics, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in satellite programs and ISR customers.
  • Experience with USG proposal development and EVMS execution.
  • Knowledge of government and commercial space architectures and acquisition methods.
  • Experience leading a matrixed team of engineering professionals.
