About the position

As the Director of Property Operations at Zachari Dunes Mandalay Beach Resort, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing the functionality and safety of the facility. This role is crucial in protecting the well-being of all guests and team members while ensuring the hotel continues to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the physical integrity of the property, which includes managing mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems, and the grounds, all in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. In this position, you will conduct regular facility inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards are met. You will also be tasked with assigning, verifying, and documenting the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs through the property maintenance management system. Additionally, you will lead and manage energy management and conservation efforts, as well as preventive maintenance programs, ensuring that all documentation is maintained accurately. You will oversee capital projects and property rehabilitations, which includes scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with contractor bidding standards. Daily operations will also fall under your purview, including guest service standards, product quality, inventory management, cost controls, and adherence to all relevant regulations. Monitoring and developing team member performance will be essential, as you will provide supervision, conduct evaluations, and deliver recognition and rewards. Recruitment, interviewing, and training of team members will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to meet the hotel's high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems, and grounds according to regulations.
  • Conduct facility inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
  • Assign, verify, and document completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.
  • Direct, oversee, and maintain required documentation for energy management and conservation and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Lead, manage, and communicate information about capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor compliance.
  • Obtain required licenses and permits to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Direct daily department operations including guest service standards, product quality, inventory management, cost controls, and budgeting.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance, providing supervision, professional development, and conducting evaluations.
  • Recruit, interview, and train team members.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property operations management within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of facility management, including mechanical and electrical systems, safety regulations, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and guests.
