About the position

The Director of Publicis Sports will lead the oversight of the team and manage client relationships within the sports marketing division of Publicis Media. This role involves account management, prospecting new business opportunities, and developing strategic marketing recommendations that align with client objectives. The position requires a motivated individual with a strong understanding of the sports marketing landscape and the ability to foster relationships with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project management around execution of client sports marketing partnerships across property and media channels
  • Understand client business objectives and identify high-value marketing recommendations and executions
  • Write and deliver sports media and marketing strategies and oversee their implementation
  • Craft strategic recommendations for sponsorship campaigns aligned with brand initiatives and target audiences
  • Provide end-to-end strategic thought leadership across the sports marketing landscape
  • Support clients on overall sponsorship strategy
  • Maintain and grow client relationships and business
  • Build relationships with rights holders, media owners, and internal agency counterparts
  • Partner with internal agency groups to support client programming
  • Drive cross-functional project management for integrated marketing campaigns
  • Develop marketing goals, objectives, and strategies based on comprehensive marketing communications understanding
  • Motivate and oversee a team in strategy and program execution
  • Facilitate team building through collaborative management and project management
  • Maintain knowledge of the marketplace to identify unique revenue growth opportunities
  • Play an active role in agency new business pitches
  • Develop POVs and whitepapers on sports industry developments
  • Oversee direct reports and support their career development
  • Perform other related duties/projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of Sports Marketing experience
  • Core competencies in sports media knowledge, sports marketing strategy, media relationships, and media buying/planning
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver ideas and activation plans rooted in client business strategies
  • Significant marketing partnership/sponsorship experience, ideally within an agency setting
  • Excellent project management skills across multiple workstreams
  • Comfortable presenting to senior clients and partners
  • Proven ability to lead and interact with people at all organizational levels
  • Existing relationships with sport properties and media members
