About the position

The Director, Purchasing at American Battery Solutions is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for both direct and indirect commodities. This role involves leading the Purchasing team, enhancing supplier performance, and ensuring alignment with company objectives. The Director will also monitor market conditions and implement business process improvements to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the execution of sourcing strategies for direct and indirect commodities.
• Manage and build relationships with suppliers, including renewal of agreements and continuous improvement plans.
• Define and drive performance for Purchasing KPIs such as OTD, PPV, and supplier optimization.
• Collaborate with internal teams for supplier selection and evaluation.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team in executing sourcing strategies.
• Monitor market conditions to anticipate trends in pricing and supply base consolidation.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience in strategic procurement or supply chain.
• Minimum of ten years of Procurement experience with a focus on strategic planning and results.
• Minimum of five years of leadership experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably PLEX.
• Professional certifications related to Purchasing or Supply Chain, such as Six Sigma.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in high voltage systems.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to analyze data and manage multiple projects effectively.
