About the position

The Director of Quality and Risk Management at Haven Behavioral Healthcare plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance within the acute care behavioral hospital setting. This position is essential in addressing the growing need for behavioral health services in society, particularly as stress and addiction issues become more prevalent. The Director will lead initiatives that focus on performance improvement, quality assurance, and risk management, ensuring that the hospital adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Haven Behavioral Hospital of Phoenix is a licensed 58-bed facility dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals facing complex mental health challenges. The hospital emphasizes a holistic approach to treatment, recognizing that mental illness and addiction do not define a person. The Director will be responsible for implementing and facilitating performance improvement and risk management programs, serving as a compliance liaison, and coordinating compliance activities with the Haven Compliance Officer. In this leadership role, the Director will oversee the implementation of policies and procedures, act as the hospital's Safety Officer, and coordinate the Environment of Care (EOC) activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare, particularly in performance improvement and risk management, with a focus on behavioral health. Responsibilities

  • Serve as Compliance Liaison for the hospital.
  • Implement and facilitate the Performance Improvement and Risk Management programs.
  • Direct hospital compliance with laws, regulations, and standards of accrediting and approval agencies, including state licensure, CMS, and Joint Commission.
  • Coordinate compliance activities with the Haven Compliance Officer.
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the hospital Safety Officer and EOC Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field; Master's level degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in healthcare, with three (3) years in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations of federal, state, and local governmental agencies.
  • Familiarity with the standards, rules, and regulations of accrediting agencies as applicable to the facility preferred.
  • Experience in Performance Improvement / Quality Assurance and Risk Management in a leadership capacity.
