About the position

The Director of Quality Control at Wilson Quality Operations is responsible for overseeing the Wilson Laboratory, including the North American Stability Unit and Release Laboratory activities. This role ensures compliance with regulations and quality standards while managing a team of 5-8 direct reports and approximately 65 employees. The Director is tasked with continuous improvement of laboratory operations, budget oversight, and fostering an inclusive culture within the laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Manage a staff of 5-8 direct reports and oversee the operation of the laboratory consisting of approximately 65 employees.
• Responsible for administrative and personnel actions such as hiring, transfers, training, salary, and appraisal administration.
• Ensure compliance with cGMPs, GLPs, and other regulations in laboratory operations.
• Act as a key regulatory compliance liaison during audits of assigned areas.
• Manage capital expenditure, profit planning, and budget oversight.
• Establish and promote a strong inclusive culture within the laboratory.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are maintained and adhered to within the laboratory.
• Participate in the generation and interpretation of divisional policies and guidelines.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action identification for laboratory deviations.
• Oversee laboratory computer and network support including security and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Engineering, or a related science.
• Nine years of people management, regulatory compliance, resource management, and process improvement experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum of four years of management experience.
• Solid understanding of cGMPs, GLPs, and regulations.
