About the position

The Director of Quality Operations at Deckers Brands is responsible for overseeing product quality across all brands and global markets. This role involves collaborating with sourcing and operations quality teams to create a unified quality organization, ensuring customer satisfaction while balancing product excellence with manufacturing efficiencies. The position requires strong leadership in managing quality issues, driving improvements, and educating teams on quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for product quality across all Deckers brands and global markets.
  • Partner with sourcing and operations quality teams to create a unified quality organization.
  • Consolidate customer feedback into actionable product improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and resolve quality issues across global marketplaces and distribution centers.
  • Drive closure to validated quality issues from markets and consumers.
  • Validate, assess scale and severity of quality issues, and lead communication of status across teams.
  • Lead stakeholders through the quality issues management process in a global matrixed organization.
  • Define and evolve product excellence related systems and tools.
  • Establish and implement a unified quality operating platform and supporting tools.
  • Educate and train teams on quality standards and practices.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in the footwear industry for a global company, preferably in athletic/technical performance and lifestyle sectors.
  • 10+ years in a quality-related leadership role within the footwear industry.
  • Proficient in understanding quality audit processes and global compliance demands.
  • Knowledgeable in material physical properties, application specificity, and commercial risk management.
  • Understanding of product construction and performance attributes.
  • Ability to navigate cultural differences effectively.
