About the position

The position is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Direct Sales Department within a designated region, with a focus on meeting and exceeding budgeted sales goals. The individual will develop and implement sales plans that align with the company's objectives, ensuring optimal market penetration at rates that are consistent with both short-term and long-term business goals. This role involves the oversight and execution of effective sales strategies and tactics aimed at expanding Charter's customer base. In this capacity, the individual will actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. They will work closely with Direct Sales Managers and the Direct Sales team to formulate customer and sales strategies. The development of sales plans designed to meet or exceed customer growth and revenue projections is a key responsibility. The individual will communicate the overall plan, strategy, and matrix requirements to field personnel while monitoring and evaluating results to ensure effectiveness. Additionally, the role includes assisting the Direct Sales Department in monitoring activities and results, making recommendations for strategic adjustments to maximize growth opportunities. The individual will also play a crucial role in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and guiding Direct Sales staff, ensuring that all current market offers are effectively communicated to the sales team. Handling territory assignments for residential and MDU Relationship Executives, addressing personnel issues such as performance appraisals, coaching, and safety training, and assisting with budget preparation are also part of the job. The individual may be required to perform other duties as requested by their supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

  • Help recruit, interview, hire, train and guide Direct Sales staff, while communicating with sales staff all current market offers.
  • Handle territory assignments for residential and MDU Relationship Executives.
  • Handle personnel issues, including performance appraisals, coaching, safety training, etc.
  • Assist with budget preparation, and provide input on broader marketing issues.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of sales experience.
  • 10 years of management experience.
