About the position

The Director, Regional Sales is responsible for leading a solutions-based sales team focused on selling to SMB and Enterprise businesses, particularly those requiring high-availability connectivity on or near the company's owned fiber network. This role involves directing the sales team, managing sales opportunities, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while fostering relationships with key stakeholders and providing coaching to sales staff.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the sales team to optimize time, activity, and sales efforts for increased success.
  • Develop a regional brand awareness program in collaboration with Marketing to enhance Everstream's visibility.
  • Measure, track, and adjust sales activity metrics at the individual sales representative level.
  • Provide executive support and interaction with CXO contacts during sales opportunities.
  • Ensure all sales meet the defined financial model to deliver customer solutions while achieving positive financial results for Everstream.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with supporting departmental personnel to improve customer experience.
  • Leverage Salesforce.com for tracking sales activities and funnel growth.
  • Coach appointments to identify opportunities for improvement in the sales process execution.
  • Develop individual activity plans to support consistent sales results over 30, 60, and 90-day periods.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly coaching to sales staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of selling and telecom sales experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of sales management experience.
  • Experience working with Enterprise and Fortune 1000 Businesses.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and understanding of optical networking (Ethernet, Internet, Dark Fiber).
  • Sales experience as a 'hunter' as well as within a 'farmer' in a technology sales position.
  • Understanding of data center and cloud back-up and recovery.
  • Documentation of sustained sales results leading a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com.
