About the position

The Director of Research Evaluation & Analytics at JFF plays a pivotal role in leading research and evaluation activities that inform the organization's program and policy efforts. This position is integral to expanding JFF's influence through strategic research, focusing on structural barriers affecting marginalized groups in education and workforce pathways. The Director will collaborate with various teams to develop research initiatives, manage projects, and foster relationships with external partners to enhance JFF's impact in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Expand JFF's influence through strategic research.
  • Lead quantitative research activities analyzing structural barriers that limit advancement for women, Black, Latine, and other groups.
  • Contribute to new research and evaluation proposals to support the REA unit's work.
  • Identify research topics, questions, and data sources for new insights.
  • Partner with program unit staff to develop research activities that inform JFF's work.
  • Implement appropriate qualitative methods to achieve project goals.
  • Define workstreams and lead teams of research and program staff in initiatives.
  • Develop and execute workplans and timelines for project completion.
  • Implement tools and process improvements to enhance work quality and efficiency.
  • Develop, pilot, and field surveys for research and evaluation.
  • Develop external relationships with funders and research professionals for collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and contributing to quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation.
  • Experience cleaning, managing, and analyzing quantitative data using statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS).
  • Experience identifying and utilizing large-scale and longitudinal secondary data sources.
  • Experience conducting in-depth literature reviews to develop new research questions.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and/or business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Domo, PowerBI).
  • Experience analyzing qualitative data, including coding and analyzing themes.
  • Experience managing research project teams.
  • Strong communication skills to translate research results to various audiences.
