About the position

The Director of Revenue Analytics plays a crucial role within the S&P Dow Jones Indices Global Finance team, which is responsible for comprehensive planning and analysis related to budgeting, forecasting, and collaboration across various business functions. This position is designed for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses strong critical thinking skills to solve complex problems. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance, the Director will support the Finance, Commercial, and Product Management teams by providing insights and analysis that drive revenue growth and enhance client retention strategies. In this role, the Director will focus on the division's Annual Contract Value (ACV) based business lines, contributing to pricing strategies and the expansion of client use cases. The successful candidate will leverage their analytical expertise to interpret company performance data, identifying key drivers of performance and growth opportunities. This involves translating complex data into actionable insights that inform product optimization and testing the effectiveness of various strategic initiatives. The Director will also be responsible for building and implementing financial models that facilitate data-driven decision-making, presenting findings to senior leadership in group settings. The position offers high visibility within the Commercial Sales and Product Management teams, allowing the Director to influence decision-making processes related to the ACV revenue growth strategy. The role is multifaceted, providing exposure to various functional areas of finance and the opportunity to enhance current processes for reporting and analysis. The Director will work with advanced software tools to analyze large datasets, contributing to cutting-edge financial analysis techniques in a supportive environment that emphasizes training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Commercial Sales team to understand various use cases for data products and provide actionable solutions related to client inquiries and contract renegotiations.
  • Collaborate with the Data Product Management organization to gain insights into product hierarchy and growth drivers, while formulating projections for new product launches.
  • Contribute to the ACV revenue forecasting and opportunity identification processes.
  • Create and update financial models for in-depth revenue analysis of various products and their impact on the bottom line, including dashboards to track growth trajectories.
  • Work with senior Finance and Commercial leadership teams to develop annual new business targets.
  • Drive accountability within the team and across functions.
  • Conduct research and synthesize large quantities of data into actionable analysis for management.
  • Manage the daily responsibilities and deliverables of two junior team members.
  • Understand and apply best practices related to revenue recognition and maintain strong internal controls.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial analysis and modeling, particularly in a revenue-focused role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly in finance, sales, and product management.
  • Proficiency in using analytic tools and software to analyze large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership effectively.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior team members.
