About the position

As a Director in Capital One's Card Risk Department, you will apply your leadership and analytical skills to our highest profile Risk Management projects. This role involves leading a team of Risk Specialists and acting as a thought leader across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting-edge Risk solutions that ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Directors in Capital One's Risk Management organization partner with Executives and lines of business to drive organizational change, enhancing the management of the Company's Risk in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. In this position, you will be expected to work closely with business partners to validate risk processes that impact the company's bottom line. You will consult with Executives to determine the interaction model with Lines of Business, fostering positive relationships. Additionally, you will drive the finalization of the risk category and sub-category framework, perform critical assessments on risk categories to mitigate potential risks, and conduct extensive gap assessments to create recommendations that ensure smart business decisions. Your analytical skills will be crucial in conducting Risk Process Improvement, Process Design, and Process Excellence, as well as managing large-scale Process Management and Governance. You will collaborate with dynamic teams on Departmental Process Management and Execution, making this a pivotal role in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business partners to validate risk processes impacting the companies bottom line

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • At least 2 years experience in Operations or Risk Management
  • At least 2 years experience in People Management

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors Degree/Masters Degree
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project or Process Manager within the financial services industry
  • 5+ years experience in Operations or Risk Management
  • 5+ years experience in People Management
  • Business Process Management certification
  • Six Sigma Lean, Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Agile Coach certification
  • Compliance Certification (CRCM)
