About the position

KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director or Director of Risk to join our Management Risk Management Digital Office organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring that technology aligns with business objectives and the overall technology strategy of the firm. The successful candidate will assume a strategic and proactive approach, acting as the main point of contact for IT project planning within specific business functions. This includes establishing technology roadmaps and effectively managing the pipeline portfolio to meet business needs. The Director will be responsible for steering overall business expectations and perceptions, supporting ongoing two-way communication regarding technology strategies, priorities, and governance. A deep understanding of the business strategy, processes, and decision-makers is essential to participate in prioritization for delivery and execution teams. Building solid business relationships is crucial, as the Director will become a trusted advisor to key leaders and stakeholders, proactively supporting business objectives. In addition, the Director will partner closely with business stakeholders to outline technology fiscal planning and be accountable for overall technology spending. This role will also contribute to the development of best practices, methodologies, key performance indicators, and metrics to demonstrate the value offered within specific support areas, effectively improving business and IT engagement. For the Director level, there is an additional responsibility to partner with the IT Delivery Organization, sharing accountability for project delivery and acting as the Business Executive level escalation point to ensure that business expectations, goals, and objectives are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assume a strategic and proactive approach for ensuring technology alignment with business objectives and the firm's overall technology strategy.
  • Act as the main point of contact for IT project planning for the leads of a particular business function, establishing technology roadmaps and effectively managing the pipeline portfolio.
  • Steer overall business expectations, perceptions, and support ongoing two-way communication of technology strategies, priorities, and governance.
  • Develop solid business relationships to become a trusted advisor with key leaders and stakeholders to proactively support business objectives.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to outline technology fiscal planning and be accountable for overall technology spend.
  • Contribute to IT program organization development of best practices, methodologies, key performance indicators, and metrics to demonstrate value offered within specific support areas.
  • Partner/lead with IT Delivery Organization and share accountability for project delivery; act as Business Executive level escalation point ensuring business expectations, goals, and objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years of relevant business experience in technology consulting services, operations, and business processes.
  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, computer science, or a related field.
  • Well versed in technology, strategy development, and implementation; creative thinker with the ability to identify innovative business solutions.
  • Capability to develop and execute multi-faceted business plans that incorporate understanding of the firm's overall business mission, objectives, and tactics.
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, presentation, and negotiation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork.
  • Capable of building strong professional relationships with the ability to influence all levels across the organization.
  • Ability to foster the development of high-performance teams; must be able to set and execute strategic initiatives for the team.
  • Experience leading a geographically dispersed team; capacity to develop strategic organization and resource plans, defining next generation business and leadership needs.
  • Proficient in tracking/monitoring and forecasting budgets.
  • Familiarity with software requirements definition including Agile methods.
