About the position

The Director of Risk Management at Corona Regional Medical Center is a full-time, exempt position responsible for overseeing the hospital's Risk Management Program. This role is crucial in ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards. The Director will research, coordinate, implement, and follow up on various activities related to risk management across the hospital. This includes collecting and analyzing risk management and patient safety data, making recommendations to mitigate risks, and improving patient safety protocols. The Director will work closely with department directors and the executive team to implement corporate and facility risk reduction strategies, serving as the Compliance Officer and providing expertise in regulatory and compliance standards. The position requires effective communication and reporting of facility-specific information to corporate counterparts, and it plays an integral role in the Quality/Risk/Compliance/Infection Control team, providing essential support services to the facility. The Director will also be involved in departmental cross-training to ensure backup support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the hospital-wide Risk Management Program.
  • Collect and analyze risk management and patient safety data.
  • Recommend programs to mitigate risk and improve patient safety.
  • Collaborate with department directors and the executive team on risk reduction strategies.
  • Serve as the Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Communicate and report facility-specific information to corporate counterparts.
  • Provide leadership and accountability for risk management activities.
  • Participate in departmental cross-training for backup support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of risk management experience in an acute care setting.
  • CPHRM certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • California licensure as RN preferred.
