This role will establish and implement the Safety & Sustainability Operations Support Network (OSN) including systems, processes and capacity & capability to provide leadership with data and analysis for compliance and decision making. This is a global leadership role that draws on expertise as a strategic thinker, people manager, project and change manager, communicator, influencer, technical subject matter expert, problem solver, and facilitator. The Director will lead the Safety and Sustainability (S&S) Operations Support Network (OSN) team through the establishment phase, defining systems and processes to align with the S&S Governance and Analytics strategy and regulatory obligations. The role involves developing maturity in capability and capacity to fully implement all identified future services, as well as implementing governance systems and processes for the S&S OSN team and its work. This includes establishing priorities and directing the S&S OSN's approach for analysis across data sources, including predictive analysis, to inform the S&S team and Newmont operational and functional leadership for risk identification, decision making, and problem solving. In addition, the Director will provide leadership and engagement expertise to identify, support, and sustain tangible levels of S&S conformance and performance through data and technology-based improvement projects, in partnership with sites, Business Units, and Enterprise teams. The role also includes directing the development of a detailed and evolving standardized suite of internal and external reports and dashboards to measure against targets, thresholds, and limits, providing actionable insights to enable systematic improvements and ultimately risk reduction in S&S-related activities and behaviors. The Director will also be responsible for proactive leadership supporting a global Newmont culture of safety and health, maintaining a high focus on safety within the S&S function, and actively promoting Newmont's health and safety expectations. This position requires strong people leadership skills, managing a global team of high-performing, diverse service teams, and building the OSN by managing the recruitment of internal staff, third-party support resources, and project resources. The Director will develop individual and team effectiveness through providing clear performance expectations and feedback, coaching, and challenging employees to grow within their roles. Additionally, the role involves developing project budgets and forecasts, and monitoring and reporting on these.
