As the Director of Sales and Catering at Great Wolf, your primary focus will be to manage and enhance relationships to ensure guest satisfaction while achieving revenue goals. This role is pivotal in setting revenue-generating strategies for soliciting, booking, managing, and overseeing the sales and conference service teams. You will be responsible for accomplishing sales objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members. Effective communication of job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions will be essential in this position. You will also be involved in planning and reviewing compensation actions and enforcing policies and procedures. Your overall responsibility will encompass total group revenue strategies, implementation, and results, which include group rooms, group food and beverage, meeting room rental, and other group revenues as assigned by the corporate director of sales. You will leverage the sales team to execute sales strategies aimed at meeting financial targets and maximizing profitability for the lodge. This will involve forecasting requirements, preparing an annual performance budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances to meet financial objectives. Additionally, you will determine annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for various market segments, projecting expected sales volume and revenue, analyzing trends and results, establishing pricing strategies, and recommending rate strategies while monitoring costs, competition, and product demand. You will also be responsible for sustaining rapport with key accounts through periodic visits, exploring specific needs, and anticipating new opportunities. Representing the lodge in resolving complaints from groups and group attendees, including billing and reservations, will also be part of your duties.
