About the position

The Director of Sales at AAR Corp. is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring that AAR Component Services and Landing Gear remains competitive in the aerospace market. This position requires a strategic approach to capture new customer revenue and foster organic growth with existing customers. The Director will support the New Product Development pipeline, provide competitive and market intelligence, and stay informed about industry trends to maintain AAR's competitive edge. The role involves liaising with various teams to ensure that AAR is ahead of industry trends and actively working to procure new business, including attracting new customers and expanding product offerings with existing clients. Building and nurturing key partner relationships is essential to establish AAR as the supplier of choice in the aerospace sector. In addition to business development, the Director of Sales will promote AAR's mission, vision, and values, ensuring a strong relationship with employees, customers, and stockholders. The successful implementation of business plan objectives is a critical responsibility, along with providing direction to the sales team to meet goals efficiently and effectively. The Director will also focus on employee development, ensuring that team members possess the necessary skills to adapt to changing job requirements and customer demands. Collaboration with other divisional managers during decision-making processes is also a key aspect of this role, along with performing any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assure AAR's competitiveness in the market by providing market and competitive analysis and feedback to the operations teams.
  • Liaise to keep AAR ahead of industry trends.
  • Work to procure new business, including new customers as well as new part numbers/products from existing customers.
  • Develop key partner relationships to establish AAR as the supplier of choice.
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of AAR to maintain strong relationships with employees, customers, and stockholders.
  • Successfully implement any Business Plan Objectives.
  • Provide direction to the group to ensure that goals and objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that employees have the skills needed to perform their jobs to achieve desired goals and objectives.
  • Develop employees in the group to improve their ability to meet changes in job requirements and customer demands.
  • Interface with other Divisional Managers during the decision-making process.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Aerospace industry experience is highly valuable.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Excellent sales and presentation skills.
