About the position

The Director of Sales & Marketing at Highgate Hotels is responsible for leading and driving top-line revenue strategies across traditional sales segments, including group, volume transient, and catering. This role involves analyzing market trends, managing the sales and marketing budget, and ensuring that budgeted revenues are met or exceeded. The Director will also develop and implement a marketing communications plan to enhance the hotel's positioning in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive top-line revenue for traditional sales segments including group, volume transient, and catering.
  • Assess and react to market trends, market share, and the competitive hotel environment.
  • Develop and implement a marketing communications plan to achieve desired hotel positioning.
  • Manage the sales and marketing budget to support revenue attainment initiatives.
  • Act as the hotel's voice of the customer, communicating key issues and concerns at all organizational levels.
  • Utilize Smith Travel Research data, financial P&L, and various hotel reporting tools to inform decisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive competitive set reviews and SWOT analysis, monitoring new supply.
  • Develop and implement key segment strategies and manage key accounts.
  • Design effective sales deployment schemes and market assignments.
  • Set sales production goals and manage group pace measurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a sales leader, with prior hotel sales experience.
  • Experience in communicating with ownership groups and asset management.
  • Proficient in managing sales automation (DELPHI) and PMS systems.
  • Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and drive a direct sales team.
