About the position

As the Director of Sales Operations at Freestar, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the sales strategy and operations of the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, your primary responsibility will be to create, maintain, and monitor sales metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) that are essential for driving business growth. You will be tasked with identifying risks and opportunities within the sales process, enabling the organization to make informed decisions that enhance revenue generation and sales productivity. In this high-value role, you will develop analytics and tools that measure the effectiveness of sales efforts, providing actionable insights and recommendations for potential optimizations. Your collaboration with various teams, including sales, finance, and marketing, will be crucial in ensuring that the sales organization is equipped with the methodologies, processes, and tools necessary for success. You will be a key business partner to the sales team, facilitating their efforts to maximize revenue while streamlining operations. Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including overseeing the administration of the sales compensation plan, establishing program rules and policies, and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively. You will also contribute to pricing strategies and profitability assessments for sales deals, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives. Additionally, you will optimize the use of Salesforce within the sales team, enhancing reporting capabilities and driving team engagement. Your analytical support will extend to assisting with sales forecasts and providing insights to finance and other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Business Development department to design, review, analyze, and optimize all sales metrics, including pipeline, quotas, closed deals, and other KPIs, and own weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting of such metrics both to the Business Development and executive teams.
  • Oversee the sales compensation plan administration. Establish sales compensation program rules, policies, and procedures, ensure sufficient resources are assigned to adequately administer sales compensation programs, and work closely with Accounting, Finance, and People Operations to reconcile and report on results.
  • Contribute to determination of optimal and/or required sales pricing and/or margins by product. Review existing, new, and potential sales deals for pricing, strategy, and profitability. Collaborate to improve the Company's sales processes to ensure sales growth strategically aligns to company standards and objectives.
  • Optimize Salesforce design and team use / buy-in / training via appropriate reporting, KPIs, and sales team involvement and participation.
  • Assist with annual, quarterly, and monthly sales forecasts for current and future years.
  • Provide analytical sales support to finance and other Freestar teams as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations and/or analytics
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a sales operations, business planning, or sales support management role
  • Advanced understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, specifically header bidding. Experience working with supply/demand side services preferred
  • Well versed in strategies for the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Salesforce preferred
  • Experience leveraging BI tools to promote data driven decision making. Prior experience with Looker is a plus
